As the International Business Development Intern you can expect to have a hand in the following at AlgaeCal: 

Research and Market Analysis

Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential international markets for expansion.

Analyze market trends, competition, and regulatory environments to assess market viability.

Provide recommendations and insights based on research findings.

Market Entry Strategy

Develop market entry strategies tailored to each target market, considering factors such as market size, competition, and customer behavior.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and execute market entry plans.

Partner and Vendor Relations

Support the identification and establishment of strategic partnerships and alliances with local businesses, distributors, and vendors.

Support review of contracts and agreements with partners to facilitate market entry and growth.

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs

Ensure compliance with all local regulations, import/export laws, taxation, international trade policies.

Work with legal and regulatory teams to obtain necessary permits, licenses, and approvals.

Operational Support

Coordinate logistics, supply chain, and distribution strategies to support international expansion.

Support the establishment of international offices, subsidiaries, or local teams as required.

Performance Monitoring

Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and growth of international operations.

Regularly report on the performance of international markets to senior management.

Familiarity with marker research, especially in European and Asian markets

Conceptual understanding of compliance and regulatory affairs

Strong numeracy, including deriving insights from data
