The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a thoughtful, results-driven intern to join our investment team in Vancouver, reporting to the Portfolio Manager. You’ll work on full-stack development, building modern applications for portfolio managers, and gain hands-on experience on impactful projects at a leading investment firm.
The expected hourly range for this internship is $20.00 to $32.00. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on the specific role, the candidate’s field of study, year of completion in their post-secondary program, relevant skills and experience, and internal equity. equity.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop scalable solutions using languages like Python, C#, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Modernize legacy Access + Excel applications into cloud-connected relational database systems.
- Develop APIs and integrate with third-party systems.
- Write maintainable code following professional software engineering practices (version control, release cycles, CI/CD).
- Translate requirements and use cases into functional applications.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build modern frameworks and extract core functionality from legacy systems.
What You Bring
- Full-time post-secondary student in Computer Science or a related discipline; co-op program enrollment preferred.
- Familiarity with full-stack development.
- Experience with Python, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and relational databases preferred.
- Understanding of SDLC, best practices, and version control.
- Passion for coding, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality software.
