What will you do as an Intermediate Accountant?

We currently have an opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team. Working as part of our global Finance team and reporting to the Accounting Supervisor at our head office in Burnaby. The Intermediate Accountant will play a key role in the day-to-day and month end close procedures. 

  • Perform month end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations 
  • Prepare GST and PST filings and reconciliations, ensuring compliance
  • Review financial statement accounts and investigate variances
  • Prepare intercompany billings and reconciliations 
  • Record asset leases and related depreciation and interest
  • Support the accounts receivable and accounts payable function for the North America operations
  • Support year-end external audit
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and propose execution plans
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
  • Perform other related duties, support and projects as assigned

What do you need to be successful?

  • Bachelors in Business Administration with a major in accounting, and are either currently pursuing or planning to pursue a CPA
  • 1-2 years of public practice experience in an accounting firm, or 3-4 years of general accounting experience
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload effectively to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, a positive attitude and a results oriented approach to business
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Experience with Netsuite and Google Docs/Sheets an asset

Salary Range: $64,000 - $85,000
