About the Team:
Our Insurance Services Team supports our Wealth Advisors and clients with accurate, timely, and expert insurance knowledge and administrative services. With an increased focus on insurance planning, this team is expected to grow over the coming years.
Purpose of the Role:
As an Insurance Planning Associate, you are committed to delivering exceptional support to our Insurance Specialist, Wealth Advisors, and Wealth Planning Associates. In this role, you will play a key part in the planning, analysis, underwriting and case management of a variety of insurance solutions, including Whole Life, Universal Life, Term Life, Living Benefits (Disability & Critical Illness), and Immediate Financing Arrangements (IFAs).
Core Responsibilities:
- Working with Insurance Specialists and Wealth Advisors, to support new business applications, underwriting, settlements, and inforce servicing.
- Support insurance planning activities through thorough analysis, running illustrations, and preparing recommendations.
- Coordinate medical requirements, collaborate on Reason Why Letters, and client memos.
- Proactively engage with insurance carriers to expedite underwriting decisions.
- Support with the implementation of new IFAs including analysis, underwriting management, and settlement.
- Manage high-volume, fluctuating workflows and ensuring process efficiency.
- Act as a strong client advocate through carrier relationship management.
- Deliver a high level of personalized, end-to-end, service with rapid and solutions-based resolutions of queries.
- Support process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings and collaborate on projects with members of the Advisory Services team to improve processes across teams.
- Engage in ongoing learning and development to improve skills and knowledge.
- Provide mentorship to team members to support learning and development.
- Other relevant and related responsibilities, as assigned and as the needs of the organization change.

Skills & Qualifications:
- You have a minimum of 5+ years’ related work experience in a client facing role with exposure to financial planning, and insurance planning
- You have experience working with carriers, and underwriting management.
- You have experience and understand the nuances of IFA underwriting and ongoing administration.
- You have completed the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP)
- You are highly proficient with systems including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Experience working in an independent advisor setting, MGA, or banking is preferred.
- Industry designations considered an asset: Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP), Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS).
- You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.
Compensation & Benefits Package:
This position comes with a base salary range of $67,000 - $87,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
