The Instructional Designer collaborates with subject matter experts to create effective learning activities and content. Responsibilities include identifying learning outcomes, designing e-learning materials, and assessing course effectiveness.
The Instructional Designer is responsible for creating engaging and effective learning activities and compelling course content in cooperation with subject matter experts from the FME business, regionally and potentially globally. This position is one of a team supporting Learning Service Delivery within a Regional Learning Delivery hub or centre and supports the Global Learning Service Delivery Strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Work with subject matter experts to identify required learning outcomes and target learner populations.
- Identify the most appropriate and effective delivery mechanisms (e-learning, virtual classroom, face-to-face etc
- Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them
- For e-learning. visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
- Provide learner interactivity (exercises, activities etc.) that enhance the learning process and learner experience
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.
- Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course and attainment of knowledge and other specified learner outcomes.
- Identify poor quality and/or outdated learning content and offer recommendations for improvement or replacement.
- Ensure the alignment of new content implementation as required. Including identification prerequisites and related/interdependent courses as defined by curriculum requirements and maintain project documentation, version control and course folders.
Qualifications:
- Preferred but Not Required: Some college coursework or an associate degree in any field; certification in instructional design
- Working knowledge of multiple web design technologies (HTML) and multi-media formats (jpg, MP4, MP3); technical expertise in Learning Management Systems and e-Learning Content authoring tools
- Visual design skills (e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
- Several years of Working experience in instructional design.
- Working experience in an international multicultural business.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems and e-learning.
- Project Management – Basic Understanding of how to initiate, plan, steer, control and finalize projects
- Excellent communication skills
- A solid understanding of the needs of learners in organization and partnership skills - ability to partner with SMEs and Talent-Learning Leaders to co-create Learning solutions that meet business needs and build A culture of Learning
