HR Generalist (12-Month Contract, Hybrid) – Mississauga, ON
About the Role
We are looking for an execution-focused and adaptable HR Generalist to join our HR team based in Mississauga. This is a hybrid role supporting both our Mississauga and Montreal locations.
This role has a strong focus on recruitment, making it ideal for someone who enjoys owning the full-cycle talent acquisition process while contributing more broadly across the employee lifecycle.
Reporting to the HR Manager, you will act as a trusted partner to leaders and employees - supporting hiring needs, guiding employee relations, and helping deliver a strong, consistent employee experience.
What You’ll Do
Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)
- Manage full-cycle recruitment across multiple roles and functions
- Partner with Hiring Managers to define needs, draft job postings, and manage timelines
- Pre-screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support selection decisions
- Prepare offers, employment letters, and recruitment reports
- Ensure a consistent and compliant recruitment process using Workday/HRIS
- Act as a resource to managers on behavioral interviewing and hiring best practices
Employee Lifecycle & HR Operations
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes
- Deliver a seamless and engaging onboarding experience
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide day-to-day HR support
Employee Relations & HR Support
- Provide guidance on HR policies, legislation, and best practices
- Support managers in addressing employee relations matters
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations
Programs, Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Support HR programs including learning & development, D&I, and employee engagement initiatives
- Contribute to HR projects aligned with business priorities
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience
- Act as a change agent to support HR initiatives and organizational growth
Qualifications
- 3+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on recruitment
- Proven ability to manage full-cycle recruitment in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices
- Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential information
Education & Credentials
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field
- CHRP designation (or in progress) is an asset
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
Compensation & Work Model
- Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 (based on experience)
