About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our team through thoughtful, consistent, and people-focused HR practices.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the day-to-day work of HR, values stability, and takes pride in creating a supportive and well-run workplace. This role is designed as an individual contributor position, with an emphasis on supporting ongoing operations. Ensuring our team members feel supported, respected, and cared for.
This is an in-office position in Nanaimo. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available for this role.
Key Responsibilities Employee Support & Relations- Serve as a trusted, approachable point of contact for employee questions and concerns
- Support a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture
- Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Handle employee matters with discretion, empathy, and professionalism
- Oversee day-to-day HR administration and record keeping
- Coordinate benefits administration, enrollment, and employee inquiries
- Support payroll processes in collaboration with accounting/payroll providers
- Maintain accurate employee files and documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment standards and regulations
- Coordinate smooth onboarding for new hires
- Support off-boarding processes with professionalism and care
- Ensure documentation and processes are completed accurately and on time
- Maintain and update HR policies and employee documentation as needed
- Support consistent application of policies across the organization
- Assist leadership with HR guidance and best practices when required
- Several years of experience in a generalist HR role
- Strong knowledge of core HR functions and employment practices
- Calm, professional, and emotionally mature approach to people matters
- High level of discretion, integrity, and trustworthiness
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently in a stable, established environment
- Values long-term contribution, consistency, and team well-being
