Job Description

The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.

The Health, Safety and Environment – HSE- Advisor is critical to supporting and managing health and safety within the organization. As a strategic member of the team, the HSE Advisor will guide managers and employees in making informed choices concerning health and safety in engineering projects. This role will be primarily based out of our offices in Vancouver and could travelling between various locations up to 30% of the time. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Promoting the firm's HSE culture,
  • Providing on-site support to employees and managers
  • Supporting the risk assessment process, and developing safe work procedures
  • Leading investigations following incidents,
  • Supporting the COR audit process
  • Assist in continuous improvement of the CIMA+ HSE management system,
  • Develop training programs, and facilitate training sessions

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in HSE or the equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in the area of HSE 
  • Experience on construction sites or industrial environment 
  • Have a Certificate of Recognition (COR) and a valid driver’s licence 
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and best industry practices in Western Canada 
  • Strong communication ability (spoken and written)
  • CRSP is an asset

The expected salary for this position is from $80,000 to $100,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
