The Opportunity: Vancouver, B.C.
Full Time: 40hr/week, no remote option
Contract length: 4 months
Expected start date: Tuesday, May 5th, 2026
Application Deadline: Feb 16th, 2026

The Role:

Let’s be honest: You probably never thought you’d apply for an HR internship. You’re tech savvy, a builder, or a student leader. Maybe you want to some day launch startups, become a consultant, or build products. You probably think HR is just compliance, filing paperwork, and planning birthday parties.

You’re wrong. And that’s exactly why we want you.

At a hyper-growth, Blackstone backed, Canadian Unicorn tech company like GeoComply; people and teams are the most complex, high-stakes puzzle in the company. Our users are 200+ brilliant developers, product managers, data analysts and leaders in our Product and Engineering teams. Our bugs are inefficiencies that slow down innovation.

We’re looking for someone who wants to break processes down, strip away the manual work, and rebuild it to be 10x faster, allowing our teams to have more time for the work automations cannot do: connect with people.

What You’ll do:

  • Internal Consulting: Work with leaders across HR, Product and Engineering to figure out process issues that are holding our workforce back. Is performance management clunky? Is onboarding too slow? You will find the root cause, and design a solution.
  • Prototype & Ship: interview users, spec out a solution, and build prototypes using AI and low-code tools.
  • Automate the Boring Stuff: If a human has to copy-paste it, your job is to kill that process
  • Gain Exposure: to HR strategists, Engineering leaders, and high-level discussions about policies, bringing your fresh perspective to solve unique organizational challenges.
  • Data Driven Decision Making: Learn how to turn people's data into actionable HR strategies.
  • Embrace Stretch Opportunities (The Fun Part!): As a GeoComply intern, expect to be pushed. You’ll be given special, high-value projects outside the immediate scope of your role, a chance to explore new skills, test your limits, and adapt to new challenges across the business.

  • Here is what the last student in this role shipped:
  • Vibe Code Solutions: Built a custom candidate assessment platform from scratch (replacing a $12k/year vendor) that bi-directionally syncs with our ATS.
  • Career Quest Portal: Took a static Excel competency matrix and turned it into a dynamic, interactive web app for engineering career growth.
  • Redefined the role: They didn't wait for permission. They saw a broken process, built a prototype, and pitched it to leadership.

Who You Are:

  • Educated: You might be a CS student who loves business strategy, or a Business major who taught themselves to code. We don’t care much, as long as you are pursuing or recently graduated from a post secondary program.
  • Efficient: You believe that HR teams should focus on humans. Identify manual inefficiencies and automate them away so our team can focus on coaching and culture.
  • Product Mindset: We don’t need a software engineer, but you should be dangerous with technology, especially with code assist tools. (eg Figma Make, Claude Code, Zapier, and maybe have interest in learning more about SQL, PHP, or basic Python.)
  • User Focused: You understand that a tool is only good if people actually use it. You care about UI/UX and user adoption, and iterating with feedback.
  • Communicative, good presenter: You will be working with busy leaders. You need to be persuasive, empathetic, and able to communicate complex changes simply.
  • Discrete: You maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality of sensitive, complex information, especially when dealing with performance reviews and employee data.

Bonus Points if (this is for things that are NICE to have, but not needed)

  • Systems Savvy: You have previous experience or familiarity with HRIS systems like Workday or Lever.
  • Proven Problem Solver: You have participated in tech or product adjacent case competitions, showing you can think critically, work under pressure, and present ideas to leadership
  • AI-Native: You don't just use AI to write emails. You use it to accelerate development, generate code, and structure complex problems.

Why You’ll Want This On Your Resume:

  • Portfolio Pieces: You will leave this internship with actual shipped products you can show off, not just bullet points about "collaboration."
  • Executive Access: You will present your builds directly to senior-level leadership. If they like it? Your user group could be 400+ global employees.
  • The "Lab": This is a safe environment to experiment with the newest AI tech. If you want to try building an Agent to solve a problem, we will give you the API keys.

About GeoComply’s Early Talent Program:

Most companies see interns as cheap labour, temporary workforce or someone to delegate the tasks you don’t want to do. This as a huge missed opportunity.

GeoComply views our Early Talent Program as an opportunity to hand select and shape the growth of our future leaders. To equip them with the skills we want our future team leaders to have in five years, and our future executives to have in fifteen. We believe in developing our future pipeline of people as thoughtfully as we think about developing our products.

Here are the stats to back that up:
- GeoComply supports an average of 60 intern positions a year (globally)
- 8-10% of GeoComply’s current workforce were hired on as interns
- Each intern receives hundreds of hours of job specific training and professional development from their managers, mentors, and the Early Talent Program.
