We’re seeking an experienced, motivated and AI-passionate Head of Marketing to join us and lead the Marketing team. You are our ideal candidate if you have at least a strong conceptual understanding (if not a technical one) of AI technologies in the developer space and deep, hands-on understanding of how AI applies and can be used by Marketers. You bring strong creative instincts and the ability to lead impactful marketing initiatives from concept to execution. As a member of the company’s leadership team, you must have extensive leadership experience, a track record of building high-performing teams, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration. This is a unique opportunity for a senior marketing leader to shape DeepLearning.AI’s voice and set the strategic direction for our AI education products.
As Deeplearning's Head of Marketing, you will:
- Lead and grow the marketing team - manage a team of five full-time employees and several contractors, fostering a high-performance culture through mentorship, collaboration, and continuous development
- Own and deliver enrollment and revenue targets - build a solid marketing strategy to launch new programs and drive enrollments to existing ones; leverage social, SEO, and email strategies to generate traffic to our Coursera pages, and follow through to revenue; explore and potentially launch a paid consumer membership program
- Strengthen and amplify brand in developer community - maintain and further develop DeepLearning.AI’s brand in the AI developer and online education spaces. Build brand equity through thought leadership, community engagement, and strategic partnerships
- Leverage Generative AI to scale marketing efficiency - build a “10x marketer” mindset within the team by integrating AI-driven automation, content generation, and workflow optimization
- Collaborate cross-functionally - work closely with internal teams as well as external ecosystem partners to align marketing efforts with broader business goals
- Keep up with industry trends - continuously monitor and remain on top of AI, machine learning, and the broader technology landscape
Your skills (things you can do):
- Have a deep and intimate understanding of the developer audience, as well as (at least a conceptual) understanding of relevant terms, tools and technologies
- Able to meet reach and revenue targets using unpaid marketing channels (email, SEO, social). Specifically, develop and execute a full-lifecycle marketing strategy leveraging high-impact email marketing, including segmenting large user bases, building nurturing campaigns, and optimizing for conversion
- Drive consumer subscription growth, implementing effective pricing, retention, and engagement strategies
- Apply an analytical and data-driven mindset to understand the business, clearly communicate insights across the company, and drive informed decision-making
- “AI native” leader - you can comfortably leverage AI to maximize your own efficiency and productivity, including writing some code when needed, and foster an AI-driven “10x marketer” mindset within the team
- Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing marketing talent while fostering alignment, collaboration, and a strong, cohesive team
- Be entrepreneurial - experiment, execute, and iterate quickly in a resource-constrained environment
- Collaborate effectively cross-functionally to drive alignment across teams
Your experience (things you have done):
- 12+ years of professional marketing experience, of which recently 5+ years in marketing to AI developers or similar technical markets
- 5+ years of experience as a people manager of teams with at least 4 members
- Startup experience in a marketing role, specifically within a B2C company
Bonus if you have:
- Executive-level startup leadership experience, contributing to overall company strategy beyond the marketing function
- Familiarity with educational platforms or online learning tools
- Experience in B2B marketing strategies
