The SandboxAQ AI Generation Engine team's mission is to accelerate SandboxAQ’s mission of “Deep Impact at Scale," with a focus on quantitative AI and rapid prototyping. More specifically, the SAIGE team aims to:
- Build next-generation AI capabilities that establish SandboxAQ as the global pacesetter in quantitative AI.
- Identify, incubate, prototype, and launch new AI products for high-potential and longer-term use cases, proving (or disproving) their viability as high-impact, highly profitable business lines.
- Support internal AI teams and help build new AI applications and infrastructures across SandboxAQ’s business units.

About the RoleSandboxAQ is a pacesetter for AI LQM product development, and this role will drive the technical execution of those efforts. You will be responsible for the technical design, architecture, and development of LQM prototypes and products in line with the AI strategy. You have deep technical expertise and are capable of contributing in a hands-on way to research and development as well as planning and mentoring / managing a team of engineers.
What You’ll DoTechnical Ownership:
- Lead the development of AI models, algorithms, and prototypes that address real-world problems and customer needs
- Own the technical architecture and design of AI solutions, ensuring rapid iteration, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Work hands-on with the team, contributing to code development, model building, and system design as needed
- Collaborate with crossfunctional team members to translate ideas into actionable and detailed work plans
- Collaborate with SandboxAQ business units to drive technical innovation across the company
Prototyping and Development:
- Lead the team in rapid iteration and prototyping cycles, focusing on developing MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) for quick feedback and validation
- Drive experimentation to explore different AI methodologies and architectures to solve complex problems.
- Ensure technical excellence across the team, guiding best practices in AI/ML development, model training, validation, and deployment
- Enforce high standards of code quality, testing, and technical documentation across the team
Innovation:
- Create world-class AI research output that is aligned with our product vision and is recognized as pacesetting in the research community
- Degree in Computer Science, AI, Mathematics or related field
- Strong history of successfully delivering AI products to users / enterprise customers
- Demonstrated ability to lead a rapid prototyping team
- History of world-class technical contributions at the frontier of AI research
- Managerial or tech leadership experience, in particular in AI space
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $263K - $368K per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and equity.
