Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data, at scale — unleashing the potential of businesses and people. The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter. By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic’s complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI.
The Cloud Services team supports Elastic's security needs across cloud environments. As part of this, the team delivers Identity Federation, a unified and secure integration layer between customer cloud accounts and the Elastic Stack — enabling the trust required for seamless data collection and actionability across our cloud security platform. In addition, the team owns Cloud Defend, Elastic's Container Workload Protection (CWP) product — an eBPF-powered system deployed on Kubernetes clusters that monitors process execution, detects container drift, enforces policy-driven security responses (log, alert, block), and streams workload telemetry into Elastic Security for threat detection and investigation.
We're seeking experienced Go engineers to design and operate Cloud Integrations, Identity Federation, Cloud Defend, and the required services for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud that make this possible. You will build solutions that are secure, scalable, and resilient, owning operations, APIs, and the reliability and observability to run them in production. You'll join a high-impact team whose work forms the foundation for Elastic's next generation of cloud security and serves as a shared platform for product teams across the company.
Ideal candidates bring strong Go and distributed-systems expertise, hands-on cloud identity/IAM experience, and a security-first, test-driven approach paired with a **DevOps mindset** in CI/CD, GitOps, infrastructure as code, and on-call ownership.
What you will be doing:
- Design and implement cloud-native services in Go that integrate Elastic workloads with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Contribute to Cloud Defend — Elastic's CWP product powered by eBPF: process and file event monitoring, container drift detection, policy-driven enforcement (log/alert/block), and workload telemetry streaming into Elastic Security
- Embed security throughout the lifecycle with least privilege, secret management, threat modeling, and secure code reviews
- Collaborate with product, security, SRE, and platform teams to shape requirements, write design docs, and drive architectural decisions
- Participate in design reviews, architectural discussions, and roadmap planning
- Ship with a DevOps mindset using CI/CD, GitOps, infrastructure as code with Terraform, Kubernetes deployment patterns, feature flags, and progressive delivery
- Operate what you build: instrument telemetry, create dashboards and alerts, and set SLOs
- Maintain high quality through automated unit and integration tests and quality gates
What you bring:
- Proficiency in Go programming language
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and design patterns
- Experience with Git and Linux/Unix environments
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Passion for open-source software and contributing to the community
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality, production-ready code
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a great teammate with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- The ability to work effectively in a distributed team throughout the world
Bonus points:
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), containers/Kubernetes, and GitOps/CI/CD
- Experience with eBPF or Linux kernel internals (syscall monitoring, kernel tracing, runtime security)
- Experience with container workload protection (process monitoring, drift detection, policy enforcement, syscall-level security)
- Experience in security domains (CSPM/CWPP, detections, posture baselines)
- Experience with the Elastic Stack (ELK)
- Experience with IAC tools such as Terraform, Helm, Pulumi
