Backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, we’re on an ambitious mission to simplify and modernize every function of the dental practice through technology. About the Role
Dandy is seeking an experienced Director / Senior Director of Tax who will play a critical role in building and scaling the company’s global tax function during a period of rapid international expansion. This role will own and drive Dandy’s worldwide tax strategy across indirect tax, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, international structuring, and global compliance as the company continues to expand its international footprint.
You’ll be joining at a highly strategic moment as Dandy scales cross-border operations, launches in new international markets, and builds the infrastructure required to support a future public company. This role will serve as both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator — partnering closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, Product, and external advisors to design scalable tax structures while also executing against the operational realities of a fast-growing global business.
A core focus of this role will be navigating complex international indirect tax and transfer pricing challenges across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate has deep expertise across VAT/GST, sales tax, transfer pricing, international corporate tax planning, and cross-border operational flows, with substantial experience operating in multinational environments.
We’re looking for a self-starter with exceptional technical depth, strong business judgment, and a builder’s mindset who can proactively identify tax risks and opportunities in a fast-moving environment. This role requires someone who can operate effectively at both the strategic and tactical levels — from helping shape long-term global tax strategy and supporting future Audit Committee discussions to managing registrations, filings, documentation, and operational tax execution.
What You’ll Do
Own and lead Dandy’s global tax strategy across indirect tax, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and international tax planning.
Design and implement scalable tax structures to support rapid international expansion while optimizing the company’s global effective tax rate and minimizing tax risk.
Lead all aspects of indirect tax strategy and compliance, including VAT, GST, sales tax, digital services taxes, and related international consumption tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Partner closely with Product, Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, and Finance teams to assess the tax implications of new products, pricing models, operational flows, legal entities, and geographic expansion initiatives.
Develop and maintain transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance and operational efficiency across global operations.
Oversee global tax compliance processes, including corporate income tax filings, indirect tax filings, registrations, estimated payments, audits, and statutory reporting obligations.
Coordinate and manage external tax advisors, consultants, and service providers globally, ensuring high-quality execution, timely deliverables, and alignment with Dandy’s business objectives.
Act as the primary internal tax business partner and conduit between external advisors and internal stakeholders, ensuring tax considerations are embedded into operational and strategic decision-making.
Support the development of tax accounting processes, quarterly tax provision support, and documentation necessary to meet public-company readiness standards.
Partner with external auditors and support all tax-related audit requests, documentation, and technical accounting analyses.
Build scalable tax processes, controls, and documentation frameworks to support a high-growth environment and evolving regulatory requirements.
Monitor changes in global tax legislation, regulatory developments, and emerging international tax trends to proactively assess business impacts and opportunities.
Support executive leadership and future Audit Committee discussions with tax strategy presentations, risk assessments, and board-level reporting.
Assist with entity structuring, cross-border cash movement strategies, customs considerations, and other international operational tax matters as the company scales globally.
Operate comfortably both strategically and tactically — including hands-on execution of registrations, filings, reconciliations, and operational tax workflows when required.
What We’re Looking For
12+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant leadership experience across international tax and indirect tax matters.
Deep expertise in global indirect tax regimes, including VAT/GST, sales tax, nexus, digital services taxes, and cross-border transaction flows.
Significant hands-on experience operating in multinational or globally expanding businesses with complex international operations.
Strong experience with transfer pricing strategy, intercompany transactions, and international tax structuring.
Demonstrated experience building or scaling tax infrastructure in high-growth, multi-entity, cross-border environments.
Strong understanding of US corporate income tax, international tax concepts, and tax implications of global legal entity structures.
Experience managing external tax advisors and Big Four firms across multiple jurisdictions.
Ability to translate complex tax concepts into practical business guidance for cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building processes, systems, and controls from the ground up.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute across multiple simultaneous initiatives and deadlines.
Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail and strong operational follow-through.
Ability to operate effectively both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience interacting with senior leadership, auditors, and board-level stakeholders.
CPA, MST, JD, or equivalent advanced tax credential strongly preferred.
Bonus Points For
Experience leading or supporting tax functions through IPO preparation or public company readiness.
Experience in consumer products, manufacturing, logistics, or globally distributed operational environments.
Experience with customs, duties, and international supply chain tax considerations.
Familiarity with ASC 740 and tax provision processes.
Experience with NetSuite and international ERP implementations.
Experience implementing tax engines or indirect tax automation tooling.
Public accounting experience at a Big Four firm.
Experience building internal tax functions from an early-stage or high-growth environment.
