Pixieset is hiring a Full Stack Software Developer I to help shape how photographers discover, sign up for, and grow with our platform, which supports over 1.6 million users worldwide.

This role sits on our Growth team, where you’ll work across multiple products and codebases, focusing on backend development, A/B experimentation, and optimization of high-impact areas like registration and billing. You’ll help evolve key areas of the customer journey and contribute to Growth initiatives and product improvements, taking ownership of meaningful technical work that supports Pixieset's continued growth.

You’ll collaborate across multiple teams to ship experiments and deliver changes with immediate, measurable impact. If you enjoy problem-solving, navigating ambiguity, and contributing to work that directly influences company growth, this role offers a unique opportunity to make your mark.

Your Impact

  • Design, develop, and implement product features across the full stack, with a focus on backend development using PHP (Laravel/Yii), while also working with JavaScript (Vue.js/React)
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to support scalable backend systems, user-facing functionality and experimentation (including A/B testing to support user onboarding, feature adoption, and overall product experience)
  • Deliver everything from user-facing improvements to backend optimizations and scalable system enhancements spanning multiple codebases, helping improve user acquisition, activation, retention, and revenue growth
  • Help improve and maintain the Pixieset product architecture, APIs, databases, and infrastructure
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders to define requirements, solve complex technical challenges, and deliver product improvements informed by experimentation and data
  • Participate in thoughtful code reviews and uphold high engineering quality and best practices
  • Research and integrate new technologies to enhance performance, security, and the development process

Role Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience building and delivering high-quality production software
  • Experience building backend services using modern frameworks and contributing to scalable systems
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases with proficiency in SQL and the ability to design schemas
  • Working knowledge of frontend fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript; Vue/React a plus)
  • Proven ownership of small-to-medium features end-to-end, from design through implementation, testing, and production support
  • Proven ability to write, review, and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system stability
  • Produces and reviews clear technical documentation that improves system clarity and team effectiveness
  • Strong collaboration skills, curiosity, and a user-centered approach to problem-solving, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving requirements

The typical salary range for this position is CAD $79,800 - $107,100 annually. Salary offered will be based on skills, experience and market data.
