The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Front End Technical Lead to join our Information Technology team.

Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, the Technical Lead plays a key role in shaping the technical direction of the team, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and engineering best practices. This role combines hands-on development with leadership responsibilities, guiding a squad of engineers through the full software development lifecycle. The Technical Lead collaborates closely with product leaders, architects, principals, and cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that support organizational goals. In addition to active coding and design contributions, the role involves mentoring team members, resolving complex technical challenges, and fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

What your day looks like:

  • Establish and communicate the technical direction for Front-end software initiatives, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, engineering principles, and business objectives
  • Provide leadership with Front-End best practices to teammates through coaching and mentorship
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle, providing guidance on design, implementation, testing, and delivery of software solutions
  • Facilitate design reviews and technical planning sessions, ensuring proposed solutions meet performance, scalability, and maintainability goals
  • Coordinate with internal partners, including product leaders, designers, and business partners, to clarify requirements, align priorities, and provide timely updates
  • Promote cross-team collaboration, sharing knowledge, aligning on shared goals, and contributing to platform-wide initiatives

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, or related field combined with 10+ years of experience in software development.
  • 7+ years with Front End Platforms
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) and Angular
  • Understanding of Java and/or.NET Core architecture and it’s integration with front-end applications
  • Experience using Azure cloud, APIM, Dapr, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Iac/Bicep) would be an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of design patterns and software engineering principles
  • Proficient in Git, GitHub/GitLab workflows, and code quality tools (code review process)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven track record in mentoring teams
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $120,000 - $130,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
