ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a firmware engineer to build foundational microcontroller software that acts as the backbone of our AR/VR systems. At the intersection of hardware and software, the role requires a blend of experience in firmware and electrical engineering of embedded systems. We operate on fast timelines and expect engineers to ship production code every day.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:DAY 1
  • Design, build and deliver an ecosystem of sensor, networking, display, battery, usb device drivers
  • Design, build, and deliver low power MCUs that monitors and reconciles failure states

WHAT YOU WILL CONTINUE TO DO:

  • Extend the BSP of a next-generation SoC to meet the needs of perception, passthrough, application layers
  • Review electrical schematics and select MCUs, interconnects, peripherals
  • Contribute to a firmware platform deployed across all Anduril robots
  • Interface with Reality Labs, Qualcomm, and other industry partners to debug and correct hardware interfaces
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • History of pathfinding products 0→1
  • Experience building device drivers via common bus protocols - USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, etc
  • Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, etc.)
  • Debugging skills with JTAG, SWD, Oscilloscopes, and Logic analyzers
  • Experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors
  • C/Rust
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience building bluetooth, wifi, networking drivers
  • Experience multiplexing sensor signal to shrink cable sizes
  • Experience building storage interfaces for multiple EEPROM peripherals
  • Experience minimizing resource consumption with foveated camera capture
  • Experience building drivers for Qualcomm BSP atop XR2GenXX
US Salary Range
$168,000$252,000 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
