Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret lease agreements to ensure compliance with IFRS 16 standards.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to lease accounting.
  • Maintain and update lease accounting schedules and records.
  • Work closely with real estate team to gather necessary information for lease accounting entries.
  • Monitor and reconcile lease-related accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in the month end process by ensuring new leases are recorded in a timely manner
  • Assist with the maintenance of lease accounting software - Lease Query.
  • Provide support during external audits, including preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in IFRS 16 standards and other relevant accounting regulations.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

Qualifications

  • CPA title or CPA candidate having successfully passed the CFE considered an asset
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting combined with relevant work experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS) and proficiency in Excel is required
  • Excellent analytical and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently handling multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Minimum of 5 years working in an accounting role with at least one year of financial reporting;
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Strong ability to assimilate information technology
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work under pressure
  • Team player
