Department OverviewThe Fixed Video group at Motorola Solutions provides trusted security solutions to the global market. Fixed Video designs, develops, and manufactures advanced AI, video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions that help change the way people interact with their security systems. These solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.
Job Description
This role will be on a Hybrid schedule and will meet in the office 1 time per week.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, Fixed Video, the Financial Accountant will play an important role to the accounting team, supporting month-end accounting duties and being involved in various finance projects and other ad-hoc work.

Responsibilities include:
Assist with month-end duties as required, including posting journal entries and preparing related working papers
Reconcile bank and payroll accounts
Assist with the preparation and filing of sales tax returns
Preparation of monthly ledger reconciliations as required
Preparation of working papers for revenue and expenses
Preparation of reports for various teams within the Finance Department
Completing periodic government surveys
Assist with testing of internal controls
Provide support for the quarterly review process
Liaise with colleagues at various levels to ensure completeness of financial information
Ensure all financial deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner
Assist with process improvement projects as required
Preparation of annual reports for international branches
Track intercompany transactions
Other duties as required from time to time
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree relating to finance and/or accounting
In-progress or successfully completed CPA (or equivalent)
Working knowledge of basic accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Google Workspace
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
Detail-oriented
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:
Previous experience with full cycle accounting and month-end reporting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with SAP and/or Oracle
Practical experience with (or auditing) a public, multinational company working with teams in different time zones
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Google Workspace
Target Base Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 CAD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
