Standard BioTools is looking for a Finance Analytics Manager to join our Finance team in support the Commercial Organization, Product Management and Corporate FP&A. This position will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing advanced Power BI solutions that drive business performance and support strategic decision making.  The platform will provide access to information and create key reports to business partners and the executive leadership team through effective KPI measurement and visualization.  A successful candidate is detail oriented, be able to work at a fast pace, work autonomously but also able to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
 

Description:

  • Power BI Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models that provide clear and actionable insights: Acquire data, develop in power query and DAX and build interactive visual reports and dashboards

  • KPI Design and Implementation: Identify, design, and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with business objectives and track performance against these metrics.

  • Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis to support business decisions, using Power BI to visualize trends, patterns, and anomalies.

  • Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources into Power BI, ensuring data quality and consistency for accurate reporting.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders and functional leadership to gain knowledge of business, gather requirements, define scope, and deliver effective BI solutions.

  • Performance Optimization: Optimize Power BI reports and data models for performance, ensuring quick and efficient access to insights.

  • User Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users, enabling them to effectively use Power BI tools and reports.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features and best practices, continuously improving the quality and impact of BI solutions.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for BI solutions, including data models, processes, and user guides.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university preferably in Data Visualization, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, MIS or a related field.  Master’s a plus.

  • 8 years of proven experience as a Power BI Developer with a strong portfolio of successful BI projects.

  • Strong experience in product development, particularly in creating BI products or tools that are user-centric and aligned with business needs.

  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing KPIs to measure and drive business performance.

  • Experience with data-specific areas such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure SQL Server, Data Lakes, Azure Data Factory. 

  • Proficiency in data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and advanced Power BI features.

  • Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Background in Finance/Accounting a plus
