We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Finance Analyst to join our Finance team in Langley, BC.  
 

Reporting to the Manager, Finance, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. In this role, you will contribute to fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, using your curiosity and proactive mindset to drive ongoing improvements.
You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating large Excel-based datasets to analyze and identify trends, patterns, and metrics.

  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, preparing journal entries as required, and resolving any related issues.

  • Researching and providing insights on periodic, quarterly, and annual financial statement variances, identifying abnormalities or trends.

  • Supporting the supply chain operations or merchandising departments in identifying and resolving business issues, measuring performance, and preparing budgets.

  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.

  • Documenting and evaluating the effectiveness of business processes and controls.

  • Assessing opportunities for business or systems process improvements and efficiencies.

  • Assisting with special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required.
     

You have:

  • At minimum, working towards completing the CPA. CGA, or CMA designation, or are newly qualified in any of these designations.

  • 3-5 years of financial, accounting or auditing experience, ideally within a retail environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use shortcuts and formulas to efficiently process and analyze large datasets.

  • The ability to process large datasets and review financial information with a curious and analytical mindset, allowing you to interpret trends and prepare meaningful analyses.

  • Experience with Power BI is an asset.

  • Database knowledge and query development is an asset.

  • Previous full cycle accounting experience is an asset.

  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well in a team environment. 

  • Able to take initiative with the ability to prioritize accordingly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Details:

$72,720.00 - $90,900.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
