THE OPPORTUNITY

Looking to do what you love at a dynamic and Innovative consulting firm? Ecora is looking for an Environmental Technician to join their expanding Environmental Site Assessments and Remediation Department at our Surrey location on a permanent full-time basis.

Ecora is committed to creating and delivering exceptional quality service to our valued clients and has extensive experience conducting site assessments and remediation of the contaminated sites, delivering a range of ecological inventories and assessments, preparing environmental and sustainable resource management plans, conducting third party reviews of development applications, and developing comprehensive assessments of environmental effects. Ecora provides consulting services to provincial government, municipalities, First Nation communities, resource industry companies, architects, developers, and contracting firms throughout British Columbia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and complete contaminated site assessment projects, hydrogeological investigations, soil/groundwater/surface water/sediment/soil vapour sampling programs, and contaminated site remediation projects.
  • Conduct Stage 1 and 2 Preliminary Site Investigations, including historical research, site inspections, and preparation of final reports.
  • Perform Underground Storage Tank (UST) Excavation Assessments, including soil and groundwater sampling, data analysis, and final report preparation.
  • Conduct detailed site investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling, borehole drilling and well installation, sampling data analysis, and preparation of final reports and AutoCAD figures.
  • Participate in field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations of environmental systems to gather project data.
  • Assist in preparing environmental specifications and drawings.
  • Work independently and as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Maintain and enhance quality control measures for project timeliness, budgeting, scheduling, and quality standards.
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, project schedules, technical memos, letters, and reports.
  • Represent the company professionally and maintain effective internal relationships and confidentiality.
  • Maintain records in accordance with professional regulations and the company's Quality Management Policy.
  • Manage and prioritize tasks based on project requirements.
  • Conduct site visits as required for fieldwork.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical diploma in environmental sciences or related discipline.
  • Professional certification (AScTT/ AScT) is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal communication, technical writing, and data analysis skills are required.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety issues.
  • A valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record is a must.

  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Drafting experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Experience in environmental sampling and site assessments.
  • Deltek Vantagepoint experience.
