Your Opportunity
You will primarily support the delivery of a large construction project located in North Vancouver, spending the majority of your time onsite under the guidance of senior engineering and project leadership. As an Engineer in Training, you will apply basic knowledge and general engineering concepts to assist with project coordination, field reviews, construction support, design implementation, and technical documentation.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Supports the delivery of a specific project through regular onsite involvement and coordination with the project team.
- Assists with electrical design, technical documentation, and implementation activities using relevant software programs and project standards.
- Coordinates with site staff, contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary team members under the direction of senior engineering staff.
- Performs site visits, field reviews, inspections, and construction support activities as required for the assigned project.
- Performs basic calculations and assists with evaluating electrical system components, installation requirements, and field conditions.
- Maintains project records, tracks action items, and assists with reports, meeting notes, and technical correspondence related to the assigned project.
- Collects field data and project information to support design decisions, issue resolution, and construction progress.
- Provides support to other projects, teams, or office-based engineering tasks as needed, while maintaining primary focus on the assigned onsite project.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Understanding of AutoCad, and the use of it as an electrical design tool.
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite project environment and collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients.
- Understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to communicate technical information clearly in both field and office settings.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, site conditions, and other project documentation.
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to take direction, follow established processes, adapt to changing site conditions, and respond to feedback from senior engineers and project leaders.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 0-3 years experience
- Co-op / internship experience preferred.
- Construction experience preferred
- Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), or eligible for registration.
