Job Description

Come join our Data Center Engineering Team and work on one of the most advanced 3D-NAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Solidigm possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products.

The Hardware (HW) team in Data Center Engineering (DCE) group of Solidigm is looking for a DRAM Firmware (FW)/Integration engineer for Solidigm Solid State Drives (SSD). In this position, you will develop, validate and integrate DRAM drivers into the main SSD firmware. You will utilize and grow your experience in embedded technology. The team utilizes Agile development methodologies, therefore, excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with team members, both locally and across the organization are required. 

As DRAM Firmware (FW)/Integration engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, validate and integrate DRAM driver for SSD FW platform.
  • Understand DRAM IP on the controller side and develop and validate read, write, Gate trainings and Write levelling.
  • Have or develop expertise in DRAM PHY IP and configure it.
  • Have or develop expertise in DRAM ECC.
  • Have or develop expertise in DDR4 and DDR5 protocols.
  • Configure DDR4/DDR5 mode registers and validate those register settings.
  • Develop and validate DDR4/DDR5 initialization.
  • Develop and validate DDR power states and refresh policy.
  • Develop test procedures and tools for DRAM validation and debugging.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with internal and external teams.
  • Provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams.
  • Document requirements and track schedules related to each product.
  • Guide debug effort to resolve DRAM issues.

  • A history of self-starting and effective multitasking, with strong influence and leadership skills.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Requirements listed below would be obtained through a combination of schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the following areas. The experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
  • Good understanding of DRAM architecture, operation and integration. Proficiency with memory testing tools and software.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, high speed signal fundamentals and simulation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and soldering equipment.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to understand and communicate complex concepts.
  • Strong planning and documentation skills.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong HW or FW project management and leadership skills.
  • Able to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
