Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:

Lead and collaborate with clients and interdisciplinary teams on diverse projects, such as hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood studies and mitigation, bridge hydraulics, master drainage plans, final drainage analysis and design for variety of projects (roadways, bridges, rails and parks), stormwater management and low impact development planning and design.

Develop comprehensive drainage studies, reports, plans, specifications, and stormwater technical documents. Your expertise will be essential in creating FEMA Letters of Map Revision and other critical design deliverables.

Conduct preliminary field investigations and research existing data to build a strong foundation for each project.

Develop planning studies and drainage design plans for a variety of projects such as: roadway, park, rail, bridge, and aviation.

Calculate quantities and prepare engineering estimates.

Contribute to the growth of our practice by participating in marketing efforts and assisting in the development of project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Professional Engineer's License is required (or the ability to obtain it within 1 year).

4+ years of hands-on experience in drainage and stormwater study and design.

Technical Skills:
-
Proficiency in drafting software (MicroStation/InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D) and drainage design software (e.g., StormCAD/Hydraflow storm sewers) is highly desired.

Experience with Caltrans and local city/county hydrology and drainage methodologies is preferred.

Experience evaluating scour components and designing scour protection measures is a plus.

Familiarity with software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow storm sewers, FlowMaster, CulvertMaster, HY-8, ArcGIS, AES, WSPGW, EPA SWMM, and SDHM is also beneficial.

Strong communication, organization, and technical writing skills are essential.

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $75,000 - $130,000 annually for this position and local market.
