Position Overview:Are you a detail-oriented professional with a knack for creating precise and impactful drawings?
Join Finning Canada as a Draftsperson and play a crucial role in supporting our safety solutions, major overhauls, component & attachment rebuilds, and new equipment rebuild businesses. You'll be at the heart of developing detailed drawings and documentation for customer add-ons, ensuring quality and accuracy in every project.
For this position, the expected salary range is between $70,000 and $90,000 annually. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation that aligns with industry standards and your qualifications. We also offer additional incentives such as an annual bonus and premium for certain shifts.

Job Description:
- Develop drawings of various scopes and/or complexity.
- Assist with small projects in each business, either related to project work or general engineering reporting and administrative tasks.
- Respond to basic requests for engineering support from other areas in Finning related to drawing conversion/printing, providing simple Power Systems drawings, and drawing clarifications.
- Ensure drawings and other tasks are completed with an emphasis on quality and accuracy, following Finning standards and practices where applicable.
- Ensure drawings and other tasks are delivered on schedule.
- Continually gain knowledge of parts and equipment as well as the computer systems used to improve the engineering group processes for drawings and database administration, as well as for personal development.
- Respond quickly and effectively to internal Finning requests for engineering support.
- Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
- Maintenance of engineering databases.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years’ relevant experience in a similar position.
- Must have previous technical mechanical experience (manufacturing, assembling, GDT tolerances, etc).
- Ability to use Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks/CAD drawing packages, including 2D and 3D modeling.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Well-organized with strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong information gathering and processing skills.
- Ability to continuously learn.
- Self-motivated and able to work efficiently with limited supervision.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

- This position is based out of our Surrey branch location
- Hybrid role, 1-2 days in office (once trained).
- Permanent, full-time role.
