We are seeking a technically savvy writer to support our engineering teams within our Platform, Security and Observability products. As a writer at Elastic, you'll be embedded within engineering and you'll help shape the evolution of our products and services. We care deeply about giving you ownership of what you’re working on. What You Will Be Doing:
- Work side-by-side with Elastic engineers, product marketing, support, and your fellow writers to document new features, improve our existing content, help users succeed with Elastic products, and tell a consistent Elastic story.
- Produce how-to guides, user guides, tutorials, and other content for our documentation website and in-product help center.
- Use Elastic's Git-based software development process—being comfortable using Git and GitHub is important.
- Review and edit documentation changes contributed by other Elastic employees and community members.
- Test both the product and its documentation for accuracy and consistency.
What You Will Bring:
- 2+ years in a SaaS, IT, or developer-focused environment—for example, prior experience as a technical writer, support engineer, product manager, or other technical role.
- Technical knowledge and expertise—the best writing stems from a true understanding of the product you're writing about and the problems it solves.
- Curiosity, a willingness to wear a variety of hats, a desire to learn new things, and the drive to roll up your sleeves and tackle sophisticated problems.
- Experience with a lightweight mark-up language such as Markdown, Asciidoc, or Wikitext.
Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component. The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.
These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.
An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program. Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.
The typical starting salary range for this role is:
$68,200—$107,900 CAD
