Drive the talent acquisition strategy that powers Nicola Wealth’s growth. As Director, Talent Acquisition, you will build and execute an integrated, multi-year strategy that ensures we have the right people, in the right roles, at the right time, enabling the firm to deliver on its ambitious growth plans.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will partner closely with business leaders and People & Culture colleagues across Total Rewards, Learning & Development, and Business Partnering to drive workforce planning, build future-ready talent pipelines (with particular focus on Private Wealth), and embed talent strategy into all aspects of the business.
Core Responsibilities:Strategy, Workforce Planning & Integration
- Design and lead a multi-year, enterprise talent acquisition strategy that drives Nicola Wealth’s growth.
- Partner with business leaders and People & Culture colleagues to develop workforce plans that anticipate current and future talent needs.
- Build sustainable talent pipelines for critical roles and ensure the right talent is in place to achieve growth objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on market trends, talent availability, and talent acquisition strategies.
- Embed diversity, equity, and inclusion into the talent acquisition strategy, ensuring equitable hiring practices and measurable outcomes across sourcing, selection, and hiring decisions.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a small, high-impact Talent Acquisition team; evolve team structure and capability as the firm grows.
- Set clear expectations, build capability in proactive sourcing and consultative recruiting, and foster a culture of accountability, integration across P&C and within the firm, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and enable change across the organization by driving adoption of new talent strategies, processes, and tools.
Talent Delivery & Candidate Experience
- Personally lead full-cycle recruitment for senior, high-complexity, and high-impact roles.
- Design and continuously improve the end-to-end candidate experience, ensuring it reflects Nicola Wealth’s values and brand.
- Champion and embed a consistent, high-quality hiring methodology, leveraging a customized Topgrading approach to strengthen quality of hire and hiring manager capability across the firm.
- Lead our corporate onboarding program, partnering with Learning & Development, People & Culture colleagues, and business leaders to deliver a consistent, high-quality onboarding experience.
Sourcing, Pipelines & Employer Brand
- Build and scale a proactive, multi-channel sourcing approach, strengthening the team’s capability to engage both active and passive talent.
- Develop and maintain diverse talent pipelines aligned to business priorities and future workforce needs.
- Partner with Marketing and across the business to evolve and amplify Nicola Wealth’s employer brand in a competitive talent market.
Talent Operations & Analytics
- Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-enabled tools and process enhancements that improve sourcing effectiveness, recruiter efficiency / productivity, quality of hire, and candidate experience.
- Define, track, and regularly share key talent acquisition metrics to track effectiveness, and improve workforce decisions and outcomes.
- Own and manage the TA budget, vendor strategy and relationships, including negotiation and performance management.
- Demonstrated success leading an integrated talent acquisition function within a growing organization, partnering deeply with business leaders, People & Culture Business Partners, Total Rewards, and Learning & Development to deliver aligned talent outcomes.
- Experience in professional services and/or wealth management, with strong direct sourcing capability, is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience applying AI-enabled recruiting tools and automation to drive efficiency, improve hiring outcomes, and enhance decision-making.
- Proven experience leading workforce planning, talent pipeline development, and recruitment transformation initiatives.
- Post-secondary degree, professional designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of modern and emerging recruitment methods, tools, and external talent market dynamics.
- Experience or knowledge of Topgrading methodology is an asset.
- Proven experience adopting new systems and technology; experience with Greenhouse, Dayforce, Workday, MS Teams, Copilot and Outlook is an asset.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
This position comes with a base salary range of $160,000 - $180,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
