Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data, at scale — unleashing the potential of businesses and people. The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter. By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic’s complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI.

What is The Role

At Elastic, we believe that the power of search and analytics is the foundation for building compelling conversational AI experiences. As our Sr. Director of Product Management for Conversational AI, you will be the founding product leader responsible for defining, launching, and scaling a brand-new set of solution capabilities within Elastic. This is a unique opportunity to build something significant from the ground up, leveraging Elastic’s core strengths to enter a rapidly growing portion of the market. You'll report directly to the General Manager of Search, and work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to bring this new solution to market.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Vision & Strategy: Develop and articulate a compelling product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Elastic’s Conversational AI product. This includes identifying target markets, defining key use cases, and leading go-to-market strategy.
  • Market Awareness:  Become the subject matter expert on the conversational AI landscape – understanding trends, competitive offerings and emerging technologies, with a focus on conversational AI with enterprise data.
  • Product Definition:  Translate the product vision into detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Prioritize features based on market opportunity, technical feasibility, and alignment with Elastic’s overall strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and inspire a high-performing team (initially small, but expected to grow), and work closely with engineering to plan the roadmap and identify dependencies on external teams.
  • Data Analysis & Iteration: Define key metrics for success and continuously monitor product performance. Use data to inform product decisions and drive iterative improvements.
  • Customer Engagement:  Conduct user research, gather customer feedback, and build strong relationships with key customers to understand their needs and pain points.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, with a proven track record of successfully launching and scaling software products.
  • Direct experience specifically focused on Conversational AI, Chatbots, Virtual Assistants, or related technologies.  Deep understanding of NLP/NLU, Search, and machine learning principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Elasticsearch or other search technologies.
  • Experience building and leading remote teams.
  • Experience contributing to or working with open-source communities
  • Knowledge and experience building products with LLMs and GenAI frameworks
