The Director of People Systems & Data will lead the strategy, implementation, and management of consumer grade people information systems and people-related data flows. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and leadership skills to support the company's growth and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader passionate about leveraging technology to streamline People processes and enhance the employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops comprehensive People information system strategy aligning with the company's goals and growth plans; executes in collaboration with Technology counterparts.
- Oversees, when needed, the gathering of business requirements and leading the selection, implementation, and optimization of People systems, including HCM, ATS, CRM, performance management tools, employee engagement and communications platforms. Selection of systems must be done in collaboration with Technology counterparts and take into account Enterprise Architecture, preferred integration approach and security guidelines developed by DTS.
- Builds and leads a high-performing People Data & Analytics function, fostering a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making. Develops and implements a data strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. Works with COE leaders to defines key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure People and business performance, ensuring data accuracy and reliability. Delivers data-driven insights to support talent acquisition, employee development, retention, and overall People strategy.
- Leads the People Systems & Data team, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and career growth.
- In partnership with the Chief Data and Analytics Office, ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all People and payroll data through effective data management practices, governance, and compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
- Collaborates with DTS, Finance, People, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of People systems with other business systems and processes.
- Manages vendor relationships, participating in contract negotiations and ensuring that services meet the needs of the organization in terms of functionality, reliability, and cost. Brings DTS to the table during contract negotiations to achieve clarity on support models, SLAs, upgrade cadence, SSO and integration requirements.
- Partners with DTS to have technology experts involved in enhancements, upgrades, maintenance cycles, and integration approaches to ensure that People system updates can be supported in the current and future Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Security Safeguards.
- Stays abreast of trends and developments in People technology and regulatory compliance to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Develops and manages the budget for People technology and payroll systems, ensuring effective use of resources.
- Utilizes effective storytelling techniques to share updates to the business on progress, outcomes, and innovations in the People Team.
- Prioritizes needs, projects, and implementations based on a deep understanding of business needs and business acumen, as well as resource availability.
- Utilizes a bias for action to drive initiatives to closure and adoption
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR systems and payroll, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of People processes and data and best practices in People technology.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing People Information Systems, with experience in major platforms like Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or Oracle Cloud HCM. Workday experience preferred.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing decisions and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering results and improving processes.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of privacy and data protection.
Annual compensation Salary Range: $175,000-$245,000
