Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Director, People Analytics and Automation, you will lead the evolution of data‑driven decision‑making at Arc’teryx. This is a unique opportunity to shape how analytics and automation evolve within the People & Culture (P&C) function. In this strategic and hands‑on role, you will build foundational dashboards, models, and automation solutions while shaping the long‑term roadmap and data governance strategy. You will work proactively and autonomously to identify opportunities, surface insights, and collaborate across functions to solve business problems and deliver measurable value.
Partnering closely with leaders across the business and Technology to align priorities and accelerate delivery, you will shift our focus from reactive reporting to advanced analytics, streamline key P&C processes, and elevate decision‑making. You provide coaching and leadership to the team, supporting their day‑to‑day challenges and setting them up for success in delivering high‑quality, high‑impact solutions.
This role is based in our North Vancouver office with hybrid or remote flexibility.

If you were the Director, People Analytics and Automation now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- People Analytics Strategy & Roadmap
- Co‑developing and executing a multi‑year People Analytics strategy, balancing foundational infrastructure with advanced predictive capabilities and clear business impact.
- Defining requirements and partnering with technology on the design and delivery of scalable, secure data infrastructure (e.g., People Data Lake) that enables high‑quality access to people data.
- Embedding analytics into core P&C processes to improve visibility and elevate decision‑making across the organization.
- Working proactively with cross‑functional leaders to align priorities, understand business needs, and ensure analytics solutions address the right problems.
- Automation & Innovation
- Partnering with P&C and cross‑functional leaders to identify and automate high‑value processes (e.g., compensation workflows, talent processes, reporting) to drive scalability, quality, and efficiency.
- Leading the adoption of predictive and prescriptive analytics while staying ahead of emerging trends in HR AI, automation, and data technologies.
- Strengthening data literacy across the organization to increase adoption and maximize the return on our people data.
- Data Governance & Security
- Establishing and evolving data governance frameworks in partnership with Technology to ensure data accuracy, privacy, compliance, and the responsible use of people data.
- Guiding data quality standards, analytics best practices, and stewardship processes so that insights are trusted, reliable, and actionable.
- Providing thought partnership on data architecture and data models to ensure people data flows reliably between systems and supports high‑quality analytics outputs.
- Team Leadership & Partnership
- Mentoring a team of Data Analysts, developing their skills in analytics, data science, and automation.
- Building strong relationships across Arc’teryx and Amer Sports to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and shared data strategies.
- Proactively engaging stakeholders to understand evolving priorities, inform planning, and shape analytics and automation roadmaps.

- Developing and socializing a comprehensive three‑year global analytics and automation strategy that aligns with P&C and enterprise priorities.
- Partnering with executives and senior leaders to fully implement and operationalize the People Data Lake, ensuring strong adoption and business value.
- Supporting data migration, reporting transformation, and analytics integration for a major HCM reimplementation.
- Driving measurable improvements in efficiency, data quality, and decision‑making that enable the P&C function to scale globally without linear headcount growth.
- Identifying strategic opportunities to expand advanced analytics, AI, and automation capabilities that improve workforce insights and enhance P&C processes.
Are you our next Director, People Analytics and Automation?
- Leadership & Strategic Impact
- You have 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, or automation, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- You are skilled at building strong relationships and acting as a strategic advisor who can influence senior leaders and cross‑functional partners.
- You have a proven track record of building an analytics function from the ground up, including infrastructure, governance, and team capability development.
- You are a strong storyteller who can translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives that influence business strategy and drive action.
- You have HR domain expertise (e.g., Compensation, Talent Management, Workforce Planning) to ensure analytics and automation solutions align with people‑centric needs.
- You are comfortable operating autonomously, navigating ambiguity, and leading through change in a global, high‑growth environment.
- You have a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, anticipating business needs, and prioritizing high‑value analytics and automation work.
- Technical & Analytical Expertise
- You have a degree, or equivalent experience, in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- You have hands‑on experience with SQL, Python/R, and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
- You have experience with cloud‑based data architecture (e.g., Azure, Databricks) and work effectively with Technology teams to ensure scalable, high‑quality analytics.
- You have experience applying advanced analytics and automation tools (e.g., forecasting, predictive modeling, Power Automate, RPA) to solve people‑related problems and scale solutions responsibly.
- You understand data privacy requirements and responsible AI considerations relevant to people data.
