About this roll* (Responsibilities):   

Toast International is one of Toast’s  big bets as we aim to continue to expand our footprint across key markets. Currently operating in Canada, UK and Ireland where we have made strong progress and been able to triple the business consistently and have  ambitious plans for further expansions, positioning International as a critical growth engine for Toast's future. As the Director of International Operations, you will partner with cross-functional leaders to execute on our go-to-market strategy to continue to drive growth and efficiency within established Horizon 1 and 2 markets.

Reporting to the Vice President of International, this candidate will analyze our current market opportunities, build & present financial models, and work with teams across the company – from Sales, to Onboarding, to Customer Care and more – to specialize the customer journey for international customers, helping to turn Toast into a global company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic projects across international markets, ensuring clear goals, cross-functional alignment, and timely execution.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and internal performance data to identify growth opportunities and shape strategy.
  • Build and manage financial models to support decision-making on customer segments, pricing, and investments across existing International markets.
  • Support the VP of International by identifying key insights and shaping strategic narratives; own the development of materials that align stakeholders and inform senior executives.
  • Coordinate and prepare recurring updates for senior stakeholders—gathering inputs, aligning cross-functional teams, and clearly communicating progress, risks, and asks to drive accountability and transparency.
  • Work closely with teams across sales, onboarding, customer care, product, and legal to coordinate planning, share learnings, and remove roadblocks.

  • Demonstrated success in partnering with senior executives—earning trust through strong judgment, clear communication, and consistently high-quality execution on high-stakes projects.
  • Results-driven and highly accountable, with a strong sense of ownership and urgency in driving projects from strategy through to implementation.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to connect operational execution to customer impact and overall business value.
  • Curiosity and external orientation, with a habit of benchmarking against best-in-class operators and bringing fresh ideas and insights into the business from the broader markets.
