Are you passionate about managing corporate reporting, uncovering insights, and influencing change within a business? We’re looking for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to join us at Thinkific.

As a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), you will drive long-term financial planning, strategic decision-making, and executive reporting at Thinkific. In this high-impact role, you will lead the development of financial models, support budgeting processes, and provide key insights that shape company strategy. Your work will directly influence leadership decisions, ensuring financial goals align with Thinkific’s broader business objectives. This role reports to the Senior Director, FP&A, and partners closely with senior leaders across the organization.

Your goal will be to provide key financial insights to help drive business strategy. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:

  • Develop and manage corporate reporting for executive leadership, board meetings, and investor presentations
  • Own the long-range financial planning process, aligning strategic priorities with financial objectives
  • Support the annual budget cycle, ensuring alignment with long-term financial plans and strategic objectives
  • Craft clear and compelling business narratives supported by advanced financial models and analyses to inform key business decisions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives, providing financial guidance to drive operational performance
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights, helping leadership navigate financial opportunities and risks

The person we have in mind likely:

  • Has 10+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a similar finance role, including 3+ years in a leadership role with strategic and executive-facing responsibilities
  • Is a strategic and analytical thinker who translates financial insights into actionable recommendations while maintaining strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Is a hands-on problem solver who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to develop financial models and tackle complex business challenges
  • Has an ownership mindset, taking accountability for financial performance and process improvements without waiting for direction
  • Demonstrates a track record of influencing executive decision-making with data-driven insights
  • Holds a professional designation (such as CPA, CFA, CBV) or an MBA
  • Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business

These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:

  • Experience in SaaS and a PLG business model
  • Exposure to M&A or capital markets, including experience supporting due diligence, valuations, or fundraising efforts
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning and Workday ERP
  • Experience working with SQL, a data warehouse, and Looker

The recruitment compensation range for this position is $170,000 - $210,000 CAD. Your specific compensation within this range is determined based on your job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and our internal equity assessment.
