Reports to: Senior Director, Business Partnership and Employee Impact

Location: Remote (North America)


We are seeking a candidate with ability to work in the PST time zone. The Director, Employee Impact is expected to be in travel 40% of the working week in market and at our North Vancouver headquarters.


Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:


As the Director, Employee Impact, you are an integral partner in advancing Arc’teryx’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity strategic roadmap. You are responsible for three pillars of Employee Impact: Employee Community, Training and Development, and Employee Contribution. You will develop and gain alignment across the business to bring together our global voices and experiences to create a best-in-class Employee Impact strategy. You seek out and develop opportunities within Arc’teryx to build the knowledge and expertise throughout the organization in relation to EDI and Truth and Reconciliation.


This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

 

Meet Your Future Team:


The Employee Impact team is a key function within the People & Culture department and in strategic partnership with the business, your team drives the continuous learning and development of people and leadership practices that foster a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion. You will lead a team of skilled program managers and subject matter experts to drive continuous progress.

If you were the Director, Employee Impact now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Developing the strategic roadmap from creation to implementation for Employee Impact inclusive of Employee Community, Training and Development, and Employee Contribution
  • Building and enabling a high performing team of program managers as they develop and implement Employee Impact related programs
  • Fostering informed decision making amongst key collaborators and executive leadership to drive momentum in the vision and strategy of all Impact related work
  • Providing solutions as a subject matter expert in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, on business initiatives and objectives
  • Partnering with key collaborators to ensure our Employee Impact strategy supports business objectives and initiatives, including reconciliation work.

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Building, executing and refining the 5-year Employee Impact strategy and roadmap
  • Developing best in class opportunities for our employees to learn critical components of creating a truly equitable, diverse and inclusive environment
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external experts to co-create a meaningful and actionable implementation of Truth & Reconciliation, guided by best practices and tailored to reflect our organizational values and commitment to lasting change.

Are you our next Director, Employee Impact?

  • You have 7-10 years of Employee Impact experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within HR for the retail sector or a similar industry.
  • You have a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. Psychology, HR, Business) or equivalent experience.
  • You are a curious and collaborative leader who thrives on building trust and connections, engaging diverse perspectives to co-create impactful, inclusive strategies.
  • With an expertise in EDI and respect for Truth and Reconciliation, you proactively identify and develop opportunities to deepen organizational understanding, fostering alignment across our global community.
  • You understand EDI best practices, Human Rights, Employment Equity legislation, relevant legal principals, and a willingness to learn about Reconciliation
  • You are action-oriented, with a strong execution mindset and a proven track record of high-quality results
  • Your ability to approach complex challenges with empathy, humility, and respect ensures that your work fosters meaningful relationships and systemic change.
  • You thrive in high-growth, agile environments, championing collaboration and collective success
  • You are an excellent communicator, with the ability to influence all levels of business partners
  • You embrace a continuous learning mindset, with a passion for growing and supporting the development of your team
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
