What are we looking for? 

Eyelit Technologies (Eyelit) is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Director of Business Development to increase company revenue by identifying profitable business opportunities and developing long-term business growth strategies. The director of business development is responsible for recommending ways to improve operations, attending client and advisor meetings, and informing partners of key business developments. The ideal candidate will also be able to assess business risks through the analysis of financial, statistical, and economic data. 

To be successful in this role, you must be persuasive and have strong business acumen to help promote and position Eyelit’s offering in the market. You'll need to have a solid understanding of the industry we operate in and the broader supply chain landscape. Ultimately, the ideal candidate will be skilled at negotiating sound business propositions and demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

What will you be doing? 

  • Lead initial outreach to prospects with prospecting strategies and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers at targeted accounts. 

  • Establish strong working relationships with channel partners as well as the Eyelit sales and marketing teams. 

  • Gain a thorough understanding of Eyelit's offerings to identify profitable business opportunities. 

  • Communicate the business value of complex, strategic solutions to business and IT executives clearly and concisely. 

  • Determine the prospect's interest in and recommend appropriate Eyelit product and service options. 

  • Apply independent judgment to qualify and validate inbound and outbound leads generated by phone, web, email, corporate events, and direct mail campaigns. 

  • Take part in sales opportunity reviews; collaborate with internal sales stakeholders to advance opportunities. 

  • Support marketing efforts by presenting market research to marketing directors and suggesting strategies to expand market reach. 

  • Assessing marketing, business development, sales, and partner operations, and recommend improvements as needed. 

  • Research emerging industry trends and recommend new company offerings to satisfy customers' needs. 

  • Present strategic growth opportunities to company executives and management. 

  • This position may require international travel. 

Qualifications 

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations, preferably within a high-tech setting.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, inside sales, or sales management experience in a B2B SaaS sales environment. 
  • Proven business development, sales, or marketing experience. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage C-level executives and decision-makers. 

  • Experience with modern marketing automation tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, LinkedIn, and online research tools. 

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office productivity applications. 

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills. 

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
