The DevOps Architect II is responsible for designing and maintaining enterprise architectures, ensuring high availability of systems, and implementing best practices in code quality and deployment. This role also involves mentoring junior engineers, managing Kubernetes clusters, and developing robust infrastructure systems.
Develop software and software fixes to integrate internal systems. Ensure code quality, test and distribute code updates, and monitor the health and stability of the servers.
What you'll do:
- Design, develop and maintain Emburse’s Enterprise footprint
- Design & Develop highly available systems for Chrome River’s architecture
- Assist in development of policies and directives, develop architectural documents to be shared internally and externally
- Work closely with different stake holders
- Engage with Product and ensure that initial user stories are vetted from a production stand point prior to being implemented, whenever possible
- Provide recommendations and feedback in review sessions
- Ensure that best practices are met or exceeded as it relates to different teams touching production
- Identify and track metrics, consistently monitor OKR in order to exceed SLA expectations
- Designs and creates networks, VPCs and infrastructure for shared services, completes projects without supervision
- Helps lead engineering teams to desired outcomes.
- Take projects from ideation to fruition.
- Consistently and continuously lowers MTTR as it relates to system outages
- Help reduce MTTR for Sev1 incidents by means of immediate resolutions and post hoc automation
- Create robust monitoring/alarming and self-healing feature sets
- Identify and track metrics, consistently monitor OKR in order to exceed SLA expectations
- Conduct and assist with investigations, test and deployment activities, identify and mitigate risks in the design process.

What we're looking for:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM field
- Required: Minimum of 12 years’ direct experience in a similar role or minimum of 5 years’ experience with Master’s degree in Computer Science
- Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Listening, teamwork, analysis, reasoning and problem solving, time management, attention to details and works well with others.
- Ability to write SQL and ELK queries, advanced Linux skills, diagnostic experience with monitoring applications (APM), APM configuration, basic IAM management, TCP/IP and OSI proficiency, and AWS proficiency.
- Ability to merge and apply PRs (Ansible and TF)
- Deep understanding of release cycles and SDLC
- Ability to create and complete Jenkins builds
- Deep understanding of infrastructure and architecture
- Strong project management skills
- Required: Minimum 5 years managing Kubernetes clusters in production
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes management and best practices
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipeline best practices
- Deep understanding of micro-services architecture
