Semtech is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT team and provide exceptional technical support to our employees across the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining desktop and laptop systems, and ensuring seamless technology experiences that enable our teams to focus on developing cutting-edge solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent customer service skills to support Semtech's mission of connecting the physical and digital worlds through intelligent sensing technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and e-mail in a courteous manner
  • Diagnose problems through troubleshooting skills, logic, research, and isolation steps
  • Configure, support and perform routine maintenance of hardware and software for desktops
  • Troubleshoot PC and printer problems
  • Provide basic LAN/VPN support
  • Install and upgrade software
  • Build and deploy PCs and Laptops
  • Record all client inquiries, from initial call to incident resolution
  • Manage Active Directory environment
  • Maintain VOIP phone system
  • Maintain records of hardware, software and network inventory

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Desktop support experience in medium to large corporate enterprise environment
  • Strong Windows 11, Outlook & Office 2016/365 knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • BS in Computer Science/ Information Management or relevant industry experience

Location: Richmond, BC, Canada

Work Arrangement:

  • Monday - Friday Onsite in Richmond
  • Rotating On-Call Weekend Shift (4-6 weekends per year)

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is CAD 60,000 - 78,000.  There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
