The Role:
Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a Design System Designer (6 month contract) to maintain and evolve our Figma component library, working closely with engineers to ensure consistency, accessibility, and efficiency across our digital products. You'll be responsible for building accessible components and documenting them thoroughly.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain accessible Figma components for our design system.
- Collaborate with engineers on component implementation and documentation, including accessibility guidelines.
- Ensure component consistency and usability.
- Maintain component version control.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of UI Design experience with a strong focus on design systems and accessibility.
- Proficiency in Figma
- Understanding of accessibility best practices (WCAG).
- Experience working with engineers.
- Portfolio showcasing design system work and demonstrating accessibility considerations.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Storybook or similar design system tooling.
