Role and Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Be responsible for supporting database operations to enhance, improve and maintain capabilities across the global technical landscape
- Database Engineering manages our databases with a goal to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure for our global services
- Work with stakeholders across the business to balance and accommodate competing objectives
- Use the latest industry standard tools and best practices to meet the evolving needs of our internal engineers, developers and external customers
- Provide administration of development, pre-production, UAT and production, database systems and participate in designing of the database tier for our global systems
- Fine-tune of existing database of configuration and performance
- Architecting database infrastructure and building monitoring and dashboards
- Drive improvement in monitoring and logging to help identify key performance metrics
- Successfully follow change management, problem management and incident management processes and procedures
Skills and Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- The ideal candidate will possess; a robust background in database & schema design, adept troubleshooting skills, and a talent for root cause analysis
- Proven expertise with database technologies including (but not limited to) MySQL, PostgreSQL, MonogoDB. Ideal candidate should have 5+ years experience in both RDMS & NoSQL technologies
- Proficiency in datastore administration tasks such as backup and recovery, replication, clustering, performance tuning and high availability configurations
- Expertise of query performance tuning and schema design and improving data quality
- Experience with database security enhancement and personal information protection
- Hands-on experience in configuring, patching, upgrading, and optimizing database software and related products.
- Familiarity with Linux and Container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with AWS services such as IAM, EC2, S3, CLI, SDK or equivalent cloud services
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and infrastructure automation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
The salary range for this role is expected to be between $ 99,025 to $128,150 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience.
