Position Overview:
To support our rapid growth, we are currently looking for a strong tech background Data Engineer to be part of the Data Engineering team that builds scalable data systems to support both data-driven analysis and AI initiatives. This position will be a key member of the team, responsible for expanding data visibility across the organization, developing data models to optimize business decisions, and supporting the data infrastructure required for AI initiatives. You will be working in business domains of e-commerce, Marketing, Inventory, Supply Chain and Customer Servic etc, and leverage enriched data to bring real impact back to the company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to centralize and transform data into a data warehouse or data lake
- Design and build scalable and efficient data models to meet the business data needs
- Implement and maintain data security measures using modern technology stacks and best practices
- Collaborate with software engineers, AI engineers, and business stakeholders to design and build scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that support both analytics and AI initiatives.
- Lead end-to-end implementation of data projects, including requirements gathering, data processing, and data dashboard implementation if needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in data engineering.
- Strong experience in Databricks Platform, Unity Catalog and/or GCP tech stacks
- Strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques and best practices for designing data warehouses and data lakes
- Experience working with DBT (Data Build Tool), for data modeling, and understanding of medallion architecture
- Expertise in data quality assurance, validation, and testing processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Designed and implemented a robust data security platform that adhered to industry compliance standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC2 Type 2
- Experience with a velocity team, and embrace a collaborative culture that supports teammates and drives outcomes together.
- Strong experience with end to end project delivery including requirement gathering, communication with stakeholders, implementation and QA process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

In addition to other forms of compensation like perks and benefits, the estimated range for this role is CAD $102,100 - $127,600. The final offer will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skill set, experience, geographical location, market conditions, and other organizational needs. The Company reserves the right to change, modify, or revisit the salary range for various reasons including business needs.
