Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As a Data Architect at Arc'teryx, you'll establish the technical vision for our data landscape and lead the design of scalable, integrated data systems that power decision-making across the organization. You'll create architectural blueprints that balance business needs with technical excellence, guide cross-functional teams through complex technical decisions, and drive the evolution of our data ecosystem. You'll collaborate with technical and business leaders to align data architecture with strategic objectives while navigating the challenges of integrating diverse data sources and ensuring data quality, security, and governance across systems.
 
This position is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
 
Meet Your Future Team:
 
The data platform team builds and maintains the data infrastructure that powers analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making across Arc'teryx's digital platforms, retail operations, and business units. We work with cross-functional agile squads to develop reliable data pipelines, improve data quality, build self-serve analytics tools for our business stakeholders, and ensure timely access to accurate data for our analysts and data scientists.

If you were in the Data Architect role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Creating enterprise data models, reference architectures, and technical standards for data systems
  • Leading architectural reviews and governance processes for major data initiatives
  • Developing data integration strategies that connect diverse systems across the organization
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to translate requirements into architectural solutions
  • Guiding implementation teams through complex technical decisions and trade-offs
  • Evaluating emerging technologies and architectural patterns for strategic advantage
  • Mentoring engineers and analysts on data modeling and architectural best practices
  • Documenting architectural decisions, patterns, and enterprise data models

  • Developing comprehensive data quality and observability solutions across systems
  • Implementing advanced metadata management strategies that enhance data discovery
  • Building reference architectures that guide technology investments and implementations
  • Collaborating with executive leadership on data strategy and technology roadmaps

Are you our next Data Architect?

  • You have 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering or related fields
  • You have deep expertise in enterprise data modeling, system integration, and architectural patterns
  • You have experience designing data architectures across operational and analytical domains
  • You have strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
  • You have experience with Azure Databricks, Power BI, and SAP Business Data Cloud including BW and Datasphere, or equivalent tools
  • You have excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts
  • You have experience guiding cross-functional teams through architectural decisions
  • You have a proven track record of aligning technical solutions with business objectives
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration across diverse stakeholders
