Our client is a fast-growing Canadian fintech building modern financial tools around people's largest bills. Already processing roughly $2B in annual transaction volume, this platform allows people to pay rent, tuition, insurance, and nearly any other bill by credit card, turning expenses into a way to build credit, earn rewards, and gain financial flexibility.
To date, the growth team has been composed of generalists. They’ve made incredible progress. They’ve also acknowledged that the next stage of growth hinges on their ability to produce and iterate a calibre of creative work that requires someone dedicated to the craft. That’s where this Creative Strategist comes in.
If this is your type of challenge, you’ll report to the Head of Growth and work alongside a tight-knit team to build the creative marketing engine of a product that over 200,000 Canadians have already signed up for. You will turn customer insights, product stories, and performance data into ads, UGC, video, and landing pages, putting new concepts in market every week and evolving the brand’s marketing strategy. Leveraging AI tastefully and tactfully, you will decide what to build, ship it yourself, and let the results shape the next round, with real ownership over what gets made.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept development: Develop net-new concepts, angles, hooks, and scripts from customer insight, product stories, cultural moments, and performance data
- Creative testing: Own the testing roadmap across net-new concepts, iterations on winners, and rapid variants, with a clear hypothesis behind every test
- Statics: Design static ads and write the headlines and ad copy that run with them
- Motion and video: Move the account beyond statics with motion design, video edits, or both, from animated app-screen walkthroughs to UGC cut from creator footage
- Landing pages: Build and iterate paid landing pages, testing offers, layouts, and social proof, and tightening message match from ad to page
- Performance analysis: Break down results by concept, angle, hook, and format, catch creative fatigue before it hits performance, and scale winners into new iterations
- Learning agenda: Keep a live test backlog and share a weekly readout of winners, losers, learnings, and what ships next
- Creative ops: Build the templates, frameworks, winners library, and AI-enabled workflows that increase creative volume and velocity without lowering the bar
- Agency and cross-functional partnership: Collaborate with the paid media agency on concepts and channel needs, and with product design and product marketing on launches
- Partner approvals: Route partner-facing creative through partner review and plan around its timelines
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience in growth creative, performance creative, paid social creative, or a similar hands-on role
- You have a portfolio of work you personally made, not only campaigns you directed
- You have strong creative taste across concepts, copy, design, video, and landing pages
- You can produce non-static creative through video editing or motion design, in addition to polished static work
- You have deep, working fluency in professional design and video-editing tools, whichever ones produce your best work
- You have sharp instincts for hooks, messaging angles, offers, and direct-response creative
- You understand testing, iteration, and creative fatigue
- You generate original concepts from the product itself rather than waiting for a brief
- You move fast and ship without a large production team
- You are excited about AI and consistently look for new tools that increase creative output
- You take high ownership, spotting the creative bottleneck and solving it without waiting to be briefed
- You have motion design experience, such as animating app screens and product UI for paid ads
- Your background spans copywriting, design, and video rather than a single creative discipline
- You enjoy thinking like a product marketer about how new features should be tested and positioned
The base pay range for this role is CA$115,000 – CA$165,000 per year.
