About the Role
We’re looking for an Corporate Accounting Manager to join Mogo’s Finance team and take ownership of technical accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives - with a specific focus on our loans business.
This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role to start, ideal for someone who enjoys working deeply in the details while building scalable accounting processes. You’ll play a key role in month-end reporting, IFRS analysis, and audit readiness - and you’ll help modernize our controllership by leveraging automation and AI tools to streamline our close and reporting cycles.

What You’ll do:
- Own and execute month-end close processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities to apply AI-powered tools and automation for accuracy and efficiency.
- Own, prepare and analyze complex accounting transactions, with a particular focus on our loan portfolio and financial instruments.
- Prepare IFRS-based financial reporting packages and supporting schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
- Prepare accounting memos and support management in communicating complex accounting matters to auditors and executive stakeholders.
- Coordinate external audits - prepare key deliverables, manage PBC listings, and respond to auditor requests
- Streamline, document, and standardize accounting processes across entities to support consistency, scalability, and control reliability.
- Research, document, and present technical accounting issues and proposed treatments; assist with policy updates and accounting memos.
- Provide analytical insight through variance analysis and clear commentary on key financial trends.
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Treasury, and business teams to ensure accounting results accurately reflect operational performance..
- Support data integrity within NetSuite and related tools, ensuring accurate mapping and reliable reporting outputs.
What You’ll Bring
- CPA designation with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (mix of public practice and industry preferred).
- Public-company exposure and IFRS reporting experience required; financial services or fintech experience a strong asset.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and working knowledge of NetSuite (or comparable ERP).
- Demonstrated technical accounting strength in loan accounting, financial instruments, and consolidations.
- Proven track record in process improvement and automation, ideally leveraging new technologies or AI-driven tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect data insights to accounting outcomes.
- A self-starter mindset with high ownership, accountability, and curiosity.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
