About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Lead, Research and Development, the R&D coordinator is responsible for supporting the safe execution of water quality management R&D field projects on and around active mine sites. You will collaborate with internal partners to safely implement research programs as a part of EVR’s overall commitment to the Elk Valley Water Plan. 

To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who can coordinate and manage field programs, technicians and contractors, ensuring their safety and compliance with procedures. Someone who is self motivated, can build relationships and work collaboratively with technical teams and site personnel. You will have strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with strong capacities for organization and practical problem-solving in a fast-paced, field environment.

In this role you will:  

    • Participate in and adhere to health and safety and environmental programs and policies
    • Support and coordinate the field execution of R&D projects, mainly during the field-testing pilot phase
    • Provide technical, logistical, administrative, and project management support for field work to the R&D team to adhere to key timelines and deliverables
    • Supervise and coordinate technicians, coops and contractors, ensuring that work is being conducted safely and in accordance with project scope
    • Develop, maintain, and train others in technical field execution including sampling, equipment, tools, and instrumentation. 
    • Compile, review and manage R&D data and produce progress reports
    • Collaborate with Operations, Environment and Social Responsibility, and internal partners to execute R&D projects in the field to support the development of technologies that can be relied on to improve water quality 

Requirements:  

    • Engineering or Science Diploma in civil, chemical, geological, mining, environmental or a related field
    • Minimum two years of relevant industry experience; proven experience in the field in an industrial or mining environment would be an asset
    • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent  

Salary range: 96,000 - 118, 000 CAD /year 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
