Based in Vancouver, the role of the Coordinator, Development Accounting is to oversee the portfolio of commercial and residential properties under development, handling the full cycle of the Accounts Payable function including invoice processing, approval coordination, contract management, vendor payments and inquiries.

As a Coordinator, Development Accounting:

You will be responsible for ​overseeing the invoice processing process, and overall coordination and support for the Development Accounting team.

  • Manage day to day activities including communication, coordination, and addressing issues in a timely manner
  • Monitor several centralized mailboxes for invoice screening, organization, and pre-approval co-ordination with the Development team
  • Ensure proper backup is received for all invoices before processing
  • Timely processing of all vendor, suppliers, and general contractor invoices in accordance with the requirements of the project
  • Monitor invoices from beginning to end and pro-actively making follow up to ensure invoices are approved by set deadline
  • Liaise with Development team and Development Accountants on invoice coding, reconciliations, and payments
  • General Contractor invoice review, organization, and processing
  • Contract administration of consultant and general contractor contracts, including reconciling invoices/draws to Yardi, and following up with Development team with missing change orders
  • Holdback processing and releases in accordance with Builder’s Lien Act
  • Preparation of AP vouchers and other administrative forms
  • Review of vendor statements and follow up with Development team for missing invoices
  • Assist in administration duties within the Development Accounting team, as required

Your Background:    

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) 
  • Experience in an accounting role in real estate development and/or construction contractor environment considered as asset 
  • Post secondary education in, accounting, finance or real estate considered an asset 
  • Yardi accounting system or comparable experience considered an asset 
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat considered an asset 
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills 
  • Team player who can develop and maintain strong working relationships 
  • Able to prioritize tasks without the need for constant supervision
  • A person that takes ownership of their work

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000

The actual salary offered will take into consideration a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s skill, experience, education and training, the market compensation of the role, and the consideration to internal equity.
