YOUR MISSION
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller owns the integrity of the books with responsibility for overseeing all accounting operations, enforcing accounting policy, and providing true and accurate financial statements. This role also oversees cash planning, audit, tax, compliance and internal controls, while developing a best-in-class accounting team that can scale with organic and inorganic growth at a very rapid pace. A transformation mindset focused on efficiency gains through automation and AI is critical to success in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurate preparation of the consolidated monthly financial statements for multiple geography entities using ASPE and US GAAP standards, with goal of reducing monthly close to 3 business days.
- Customer agreements and Order Forms that are compliant with internal accounting policies and ASC 606 recognition.
- Improvements to DSO or other cash efficiency KPI’s through close monitoring of Accounts Receivable aging and collection efforts.
- Ensure up to date documentation of all relevant processes, transactions, policies and systems architecture.
- Prepare and submit monthly lender reporting; proactively monitor covenants for compliance.
- Manage treasury and cash, including all forms of payables and administration of banking sites, and approval funds transfers as needed.
- Regularly evaluate nexus status for sales and use tax reporting in all relevant jurisdictions; register and file as required, de-register to eliminate ongoing liability when possible.
- 100% accurate and on-time payroll processing and relevant filings.
- Work with external tax parties to prepare, review and file all state, federal and international income and franchise tax returns with no late-filing consequences.
- Coordinate annual corporate and regulatory audits; manage auditor relationships and project schedule for on-time completion.
- Oversee special projects that drive automation of processes (i.e, quote to cash or 3rd party integrations to ERP system) or are regularly necessary for tax planning purposes (transfer pricing, nexus).
- Assist with Merger & Acquisition (M&A) efforts, with emphasis on quick integration of financial data plus PPA coordination and accurate booking of workbook entries.
- Continuously develop and motivate accounting team with understanding of how efforts contribute to overall success of the business, while balancing internal controls and risk.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Prior Controller experience in >25M revenue business, preferably international, high-growth SaaS.
- Demonstrated ability to growth and scale a team toward operational excellence.
- Familiarity of Mergers & Acquisitions with ERP and process integrations of new companies.
- Sage Intacct knowledge of a multi-geographic entity set up a plus.
- The highest standards of accuracy and precision with ability to present clear and focused analysis of complex topics in a straightforward way.
- Detailed-oriented with strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
- Handling of sensitive and confidential financial information in the most professional manner.
- A strong sense of personal motivation, responsibility, and initiative with a natural curiosity and intuition to “anticipate the next question”.
