About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated People Operations expert to to join our People team for a ~6 month contract while a team member is out on leave. This role is ideal for someone with strong generalist experience in HR/People Ops, who’s comfortable juggling a variety of tasks from employee support to compliance, and everything in between. You'll be the go-to for HR questions, day-to-day operations, data accuracy, and smooth experiences across the employee lifecycle.
What you’ll doHR & Employee Support
- Respond to general HR questions from employees and internal partners (Finance, IT, Recruiting, etc.)
- Process employment verifications and generate employment letters
- Support role changes and leave of absence management
- Manage onboarding and off-boarding processes, including terminations
- Track and support contractor onboarding and engagement
People Operations & Data Management
- Maintain up-to-date records and workflows in Rippling (our HRIS)
- Generate and manage reports as needed across HR systems
Immigration
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on immigration cases and questions
- Support employees with immigration-related documentation and needs
Payroll & Compensation
- Communicate all payroll-related changes: new hires, terminations, severance, compensation updates, etc.
- Support compensation cycles
- Administer equity updates, comp bands, and offer details for recruiting
Benefits
- Handle benefits enrollments, questions, escalations, and audits
- Partner with benefit brokers as needed for resolution or support
Compliance & Communication
- Keep the employee handbook and policies current
- Help manage All Hands meetings and other company-wide communications
- Partner with external legal and vendors to ensure compliance across employment and benefits
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years in a generalist HR/People Ops role
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with external legal counsel (employment and immigration) and benefits brokers
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable in fast-paced environments
- Strong sense of proactive ownership
Bonus points for:
- Experience with Rippling, Carta, and Culture Amp
- Previous experience managing or assisting in compensation cycles
This is a contractor role and we are targeting to onboard as soon as possible. This role is paid hourly and we are looking for someone who can commit to 40 hours per week for ~6 months.
The target hourly rate for this role is $57-$62.
