Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a Continuing Education Coordinator to join our team in Burnaby! 

The Continuing Education Coordinator is responsible for developing, marketing, and delivering Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s Continuing Education (CE) Program offerings and initiatives within their program areas. This includes identifying opportunities for seminars, webinars, and other online learning methods and opportunities to offer joint sessions and partnerships with other technical associations or government.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING 

  • Administers and organizes the day-to-day operations of the CE program within specified program areas
  • Administers programs for registrants and follows up on registrant suggestions
  • Researches technical, communications and leadership, and ethical topics and sources and contracts subject matter experts; works with subject matter experts to develop course content and curriculum suitable for registrants
  • Responsible for the development, production and delivery of a minimum of 39 continuing education offerings per year
  • Identifies sessions to be offered in-person, online, or blended delivery method
  • Contributes to developing and managing budgets for each continuing education offering, forecasting revenue, meeting projected revenue targets, negotiating fees with contractors and vendor
  • Ensures the satisfaction of attendees and speakers, maintaining the quality assurance of events, compiling evaluation forms, and performing any additional follow up required for the event
  • Develops relationships with major CE providers, such as universities, colleges, and technical associations, and seeks out opportunities for joint sponsorship of continuing education initiatives
  • Markets the CE program; establishes a communication schedule for broadcast emails, coordinates layout, design, and production of promotional materials, such as print publications, website advertisements and email campaigns
  • Supports the curation of the Knowledge Centre, including development and review of online courses and webinar recordings, work with IS and Finance teams to setup and publish recordings, provide registrant access to items, monitor quality and survey results, and support registrant inquiries
  • Participates in the organization and on-site or virtual delivery of the annual conference. Duties may include administrative support, customer service, website maintenance and content management, conference registration, coordination of sponsors and exhibitors, or other responsibilities as required
  • Participates in the organization, support, and on-site or virtual delivery of events hosted by our organization, as needed
  • Travel includes day travel within the Lower Mainland (approximately 4 to 5 times per month) and a once-yearly overnight trip to Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s annual conference and AGM
  • Other duties as assigned by management

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE 

The successful applicant will possess the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Adult Education, or equivalent education and experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role or organization in event planning, online learning, adult education, or project management including independently managing event budgets and contract negotiations, working among technical professionals, marketing and communications and customer service. 
  • 2-4 years of experience in project management, budget preparation, and contract negotiation
  • Proficiency in core MS Office programs and working with databases
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively

This role offers a competitive compensation and benefits program including a salary within our hiring range of $69,500 to $78,000. Placement within the hiring range will be based on candidate experience relative to the requirements of the role. Additional details on our generous benefit offerings are found below.
