Job Description

JYSK Canada is seeking a Compliance and Quality Assurance Assistant to join our successful quality team on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for product integrity, regulatory alignment, and legal conformity in the Canadian market. Supporting both the Compliance Manager and Quality Manager, your primary focus will be ensuring that all incoming and ongoing shipments—including hard goods, soft goods, mattresses, and seasonal items—strictly adhere to Canadian retail regulations, legal labeling frameworks, and internal standards to mitigate corporate liability and protect consumer safety.

Please note: This role is based out of 2 locations, our Head Office in Coquitlam, BC and our Distribution Center in Pitt Meadows, BC.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and verify that all product packaging, textiles, and consumer goods comply with Canadian statutory requirements.
  • Systematically review, verify, and maintain critical product compliance documentation, certificates of conformity, test reports, and technical data sheets to ensure total alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate with researching and writing product specifications.
  • Conduct First Article and Pre-production inspections and test on new or revised product designs.
  • Maintaining and controlling all inspection and testing documents
  • Reviewing assembly instructions for accuracy, controlling and approving new revision of assembly instruction.
  • Investigate the issue reported by store for its scope and root cause by communicating with category managers, store managers and suppliers.
  • Reviewing customer issues and working on the corrective/preventive actions
  • Participating with new products review and provide input by identifying potential issues.
  • Reviewing and processing defective product report.
  • Understanding the customers’ needs and requirements by reviewing the customer feedback and product review.  
  • Ensuring product specifications are met by the supplier through inspection and experiment.
  • Fulfill spare parts orders requests

What do you bring to the role?

  • Previous experience navigating legal compliance frameworks is highly advantageous for interpreting regulations and ensuring absolute audit-readiness.
  • Experience with measuring instruments; knowledge of materials, especially furniture is a plus
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Detail oriented and organized with efficient work ethic
  • Advanced user of MS Office
  • Must be resourceful and well organized with an ability to work on multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

Compensation: Generally, the hiring range for this position is $45,000 to $50,000  annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.

 

Qualifications

Experience: 2 years’ experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, product inspections within furniture manufacturing environment is required

Education: 2 years post- secondary education in Engineering or a Diploma in Quality Assurance (or related field) with a hands-on approach
