Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and quick-learning Data Analyst with 0-5 years of work experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with the ability to transform complex data queries into easily understandable information for non-data professionals.

Having a holistic understanding of our clients and their needs is integral to HUB. The HUB Practices Data Analyst will support Industry and LOB [Line of Business] analysis and reporting across HUB, reporting directly to the HUB Practices Data Analytics Manager at Hub International.

This individual will be responsible for supporting our HUB Practices Data and Analytics manager, running scheduled and on-demand reports and analyses, creating internal and external collateral and presentations, developing new reporting models, and liaising with various HUB departments on HUB’s data needs - including identifying gaps in data quality, and working collaboratively to provide solutions, including the development of creative data-driven sales strategies.

The role will be a perfect fit for a proactive, creative, and analytical individual who is an organized self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and a customer-service approach. Additionally, a sales mindset geared towards employing data to support strategic sales strategies across HUB is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Utilize Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Present data findings in a clear and concise manner using PowerPoint.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
  • Support data projects utilizing APIs.
  • Assist in implementing and utilizing Microsoft Dynamics (preferred but not required).
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Technology, Tools and Resources

  • Power BI
  • Excel
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products (OneDrive, Word, PowerPoint), Seismic, Microsoft Dynamics, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with current data analysis tools

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Data Analysis or related field, or a combination of education and experience
  • Insurance Industry experience preferred, but not required
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel & Power BI preferred
  • Knowledge of CRM systems [Microsoft Dynamics] preferred
  • Understanding of SharePoint preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, across all organizational levels
  • Responsive, with a strong sales mindset
  • Must be a team player, be proactive, collaborative and have excellent relationship-building skills

Location

  • Western Canada [BC, Alberta], or Pacific Northwest [Seattle and surrounding areas]

The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. If you believe that your qualifications and experience surpass the minimum requirements for this role, we encourage you to submit your application.
