ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE
As part of the Sourcing team, the Colour Manager will work with the in-house team and our manufacturers to ensure that all product aligns with colour expectations upon physical inspection and before final production begins. This is a 12 month maternity cover role based out of our Vancouver HQ, and we are open to hiring at either Senior Colourist or Colour Manager level depending on experience. Scope of the role, title and salary band would be adjusted accordingly.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Our workplace is dynamic, supportive and entrepreneurial in spirit, and we pride ourselves on being a collaborative, open-minded and imaginative team. On a day-to-day basis, the Colour Manager will:
- Execute the seasonal color palette development process in collaboration with design team, building all palettes in PLM and ordering relevant colour standards
- Build and request all Lab Dip and Strike-off requests and tracking all comments and statuses in PLM to ensure calendar and buy ready dates are on track.
- Visually review lab dips to meet colour and colourfastness standards.
- Proactively communicate achievability and feasibility concerns to relevant stakeholders.
- Raise issues to cross functional partners and provide solutions or alternatives.
- Evolve color review strategy to find efficiencies and improve lead-time.
- Track supplier performance based on KPI's to foster continuous improvement and a strong business relationship.
- Manage Communication with Supplier base using our communication tool – Basecamp
- Manage and oversee Colour Lab and all associated libraries.
- Manage and Develop the Colour Assistant and Seasonal Interns.
- Project Management of Adhoc Special Projects involving Colour and Sourcing.
ABOUT YOU
- Must pass Munsell 100 Color Test and have a trained color eye.
- Experience working with trims and colour for an apparel or accessories brand or a textile mill.
- Strong knowledge of fabric construction / finishing properties and how that can affect color.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and achieve deadlines.
- Project Management experience.
- Efficient in Excel.
- PLM experience.
- Understanding of industry testing standards and test reports.

The annual salary for this role falls within the range of $100,000-$140,000 CAD. We welcome diverse talents, and the role is also open to those working at a Senior Colourist level.
